LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) - After several months, a land study in Columbia County determined Olustee Park is owned by the county and not Lake City.
The park is where a Confederate monument at the center of controversy sits.
The Lake City Manager updated City Commissioners during Monday night’s meeting stating that outside legal counsel made the determination.
Back in September, Columbia County Commissioners decided not to take action on moving the Confederate monument until it was determined who owned the land.
At the time, County Commissioners believed it belonged to the city.
