Gator legend Steve Spurrier hopes to create one of the best restaurants in Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A Gator football legend is bringing jobs to North Central Florida as his new restaurant is set to open this summer.
Former head football coach and Gator legend Steve Spurrier will open the new Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille. The restaurant will feature a rooftop bar, named appropriately ‘Visors’, a museum highlighting Spurrier’s football career, and of course great food.
The restaurant is expected to open its doors in mid-June. The spot is aiming to employ more than 300 people from the Alachua County area.
“It’s about to be the ninth largest in Florida...stop by we’ll make em feel at home,” said Spurrier.
Spurrier says he is hoping to create of the best restaurants the state of Florida has to offer.
“We believe we have the makings of one of the best states - to get a lot more people to come to want to interview and work here,” said Spurrier.
