Florida’s lacrosse season comes to an end with loss to Syracuse

SYRACUSE, NY. (WCJB) -The Florida Gators lacrosse team fell to the Syracuse Orange in the quarterfinals of the Women’s Lacrosse Championship, 17-11 on Saturday.

The Gators got on the board first after Brianna Harris scored within the first minute of play to lead over the Orange 1-0.

Florida and Syracuse battled until the end of the first half, tying the game at five.

The Orange started to pull away with the lead in the second half, taking a 10-5 advantage over the Gators with only 20 minutes left in the match.

Florida was only in a 3-0 deficit after Harris scored with eight minutes left to play to put the Gators down 13-10.

But, Syracuse scored three more goals on Florida to advance over the Gators 17-11.

It’s the third consecutive time Florida has been knocked out of the tournament at the hands of Syracuse.
