GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - “Blossoming Butterfly” is hosting “Pinkfest” on Saturday June 26 at Celebration Pointe from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Residents can do a 1k walk or run, enter raffles, and hear from the roughly 50 vendors expected with information about different types of cancer and how to seek help.

Blossoming Butterfly was founded by breast cancer survivor Nicole Miller in 2020 and offers rent and bill assistance to people battling the disease.

“I’m hoping that this will help people that don’t know what signs and symptoms to look for cancer, different types of cancer,” Miller said. “I know that a lot of people find out when it’s too late. So, hopefully with this event we can help people to know more about the signs and symptoms.”

People can sign up for “Blossoming Butterfly” assistance at the free event.
