GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A woman was just relaxing at home when a truck ran into house in Northeast Alachua County. According to Gainesville Fire Rescue(GFR), a two-car accident caused the truck to do so.

Marie Hines has been living in her home on 7316 Northeast Waldo Rd. and said she never imagined something like this could happen to her.

According to GFR, just before 1 p.m. a truck was traveling down Northeast Waldo Rd, when a car on Northeast 53rd Ave. hit the truck. The truck then ran into Hines’ home.

“I literally saw the front grill come into my house,” Hines said. “It knocked the door down and the walls split behind the tv and it was just terrifying.”

She said she was just watching TV and next thing she knew a truck was inside her home.

“I’ve seen it on TV so many times, vehicles going into other homes, people inside and then it happens to you,” Hines said. “It’s devastating, literally devastating.”

Two people were in the truck and suffered no injuries.

The person inside the car however was cut out of the vehicle and trauma alerted to UF Health Shands.

Contractors said electricity is stable but they need more time to access the structure. Overall, she said she’s very grateful for the responders for their help.
