Tee Time Week Nine: Pinson vs. The Pro (Candler Hills G.C.)

OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - Week nine of Tee Time brings Chris Pinson to Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala for the debut of the final installment of TV20′s summer golf special - Pinson vs. The Pro.

In this brand new segment, Chris challenges the L.P.G.A. Professional of Candler Hills Golf Club, Denise Mullen, to a one-hole match to see who can record the lowest score.

For this fun and challenging clash of the titans, Denise selected the pair play the beautiful par-3 17th hole.

This picturesque hole plays about 135 yards from the white tees, and while there isn’t too much trouble to get into off the left side of the hole, there are three yawning bunkers that guard the hole down the right side and on the greenside.

A wayward shot in to the bunkers could spell disaster for either player, so the key for both was to hit the left-center portion of the green and give themselves a chance to make a putt for birdie.

Candler Hills Golf Club is a Gordon Lewis design and has been in business since 2005.

Candler Hills Golf Course is a beautiful Par-72 semi-private championship golf course that has six sets of tees ranging in length from 4,785 to 7,233 yards creating a rewarding experience for golfers of various handicaps. The scenery is picturesque with a unique layout.

There is a Par 5 that is 662 yards from the back tees that will challenge the skill level of a very good player all day long. Candler Hills Golf Club is the Home of the Ocala Open Professional Tournament.

This event has been held at Candler Hills for the last 14 years. There is a Charity Pro-Am that is played each year with the purpose of raising money for Hospice of Marion County and Interfaith Emergency Services. To date the Ocala Open has raised $813,000.00.

Last year the 2 charities each received donation checks that totaled $42,500. What a great way to give back to the community.
