Man killed in Lincoln Estates neighborhood in Gainesville
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A man is dead after shots were fired in the Lincoln Estates neighborhood in Southeast Gainesville on Sunday night.
Around 9:30 p.m. Calvin Brasby, 20, was shot near a home on Southeast 17th Drive. He was rushed to the hospital where officers say he died from his injuries.
Officers say they don’t know what caused the shooting and have not identified any suspects at this time.
A resident of the Lincoln Estates neighborhood says it sounded like firecrackers.
“I guess around 15 or 20 minutes the police came up the lights flashing and I didn’t think nothing of it until this morning when they said it was a shooting on here,” Jimmie Mckinney, a neighbor.
