Dixie County man arrested after SWAT incident in Old Town

OLD TOWN, Fla. (WCJB) - Dixie County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man after an incident in Old Town Thursday night.

Deputies say they arrested James Lewis Herring, 61, after being called to Southeast 455th Avenue. The Columbia County SWAT team also assisted Dixie County deputies.

Herring was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He is being held in the Dixie County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
