11th annual garden show and spring festival draws crowds despite rain
WILLISTON, Fla. — Plants were in full bloom at the 11th annual Garden Show and Spring Festival, where recent rain did not stop local nurseries and plant lovers from attending.
The event features exotic and native plants, local vendors, live music and food set against scenic gardens.
Joann Smith said her love for plants started as a child and grew into a passion she now shares with her husband, traveling across Florida for plant shows.
“I think it’s one of my favorite shows because it has a waterfalls and pathways to go and explore and I just love it here. It’s just so beautiful so different,” Smith said.
Vendors say this year is bringing in more interest as people look to refresh their gardens.
“They want to start again some plans are not dead, but they want to see color down you know cause they’re hummingbirds are back and you know they want to plant you know that the hummingbirds come too,” Smith said.
