17-year-old arrested after bringing loaded rifle to block party in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies say a 17-year-old boy faces charges after bringing a loaded rifle to a block party. A 2nd minor was arrested at the same party.

Deputies responded to the block party at an apartment complex on Southwest 20th Avenue in Gainesville on Saturday.

Deputies learned that the 2nd minor had two active warrants for violating his parole for an aggravated assault charge. Deputies did not specify why they arrested the 2nd minor at the party.
