Gainesville man arrested after alleged assault

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A Gainesville man is behind bars after he allegedly forced himself onto a victim and began kissing them.

The victim told law enforcement that 43-year-old Steven Diaz approached them around 3 a.m. Saturday.

Diaz was arrested and placed under the Marchman Act by Gainesville Police officers responding to a separate report.

The victim identified Diaz as the man who assaulted her.
