Marion County deputies arrest man for tampering with evidence in Dunnellon homicide investigation
DUNNELLON, Fla. (WCJB) - Marion County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide investigation, but he has not been charged with murder yet.
Andres Bahamon, 25, was arrested for tampering with evidence. He is the son of 43-year-old Andres Prada, who has not been seen since May 7. Prada’s mother told deputies she last received a photo he sent of himself on that day.
Bahamon first told his grandmother he didn’t know what had happened. But later, the grandmother said Bahamon told her he killed his father, Prada.
According to the arrest report, Bahamon is schizophrenic and told his grandmother that the Lord spoke to him and he needed to kill Satan, referring to the victim. The report said he also sent a picture to a relative in Germany of the victim’s dead body.
Search for vehicle continues
Deputies are searching for a silver 2007 Infinity M35, which they believe may have important evidence. Bahamon told detectives the victim’s car disappeared from the driveway on May 11.
Ciarra McBryde, who was keeping her RV on the property in Dunnellon where human remains were found, stopped by to give detectives the keys. Deputies said they wanted to make sure nothing was in her RV.
“Shocking. That’s the word I’m trying to get. Yeah, shocking,” McBryde said.
McBryde said she had met Prada before.
“He was really nice. I mean, I liked him. He picked me and my boyfriend up, we went and did things together. He never had any kind of well. I never had weird vibes with him. He was a nice person. I know he’s on TikTok. He’s very into God he made videos about God and sobriety,” McBryde said.
McBryde said there had been altercations between Bahamon and Prada about money.
“I guess there was altercations before with what my boyfriend said is that altercations about money, where his dad wanted money you know for staying and he wouldn’t pay it on the right time and I guess he was talking about throwing him out,” McBryde said.
Deputies retrieved the SIM card from the camera on McBryde’s RV to hopefully find out what happened.
Bahamon is being held in the Marion County Jail with no bond. McBryde is able to get her RV back in a few days.
