Gilchrist County man arrested after hit-and-run crash

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — A wanted man from Gilchrist County was arrested by Gainesville police officers after walking away from a car crash.
Detectives said they responded to the wreck Thursday afternoon on Southwest Archer Road.
The driver of one of the vehicles, 20-year-old Dennis Cole, drove away from the crash.
Officers used a K-9 unit to track Cole down. They found he was wanted for aggravated battery.
He is in the Alachua County Jail on charges including hit-and-run and resisting an officer.
