Humane Society of North Central Florida rescues injured dog, updates his recovery

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A dog rescued in North Central Florida is recovering after officials said he was found with severe bite wounds.

Humane Society of North Central Florida leaders said the dog, named Chicken Biscuit, arrived last month injured, underweight and suffering from multiple medical issues, including hookworms, heartworm disease, and a tick-borne illness.

Staff said his wounds are healing, but they continue to monitor his severely inflamed feet, which have not improved despite treatment.
