HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. (WCJB) - A hearing in Gilchrist County will determine whether a criminal case moves forward over a deadly shooting two years ago at Ginnie Springs.

Fisher Watts argues he shot Koty Stewart in self-defense under Florida’s “stand your ground” law.

If a judge in Gilchrist County accepts that argument, the case will be dropped.

His brother Dallas is set to be in court for the hearing.

Dallas was sentenced last year to five years in prison for the shooting over Memorial Day weekend in 2024.
