Alachua County School Board to discuss lease with city of Gainesville over Citizens Field

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Alachua County School Board members are set to discuss a lease with the city of Gainesville over Citizens Field.

An amendment to the current deal proposes to extend the lease until the end of this year. That’s in the consent agenda, but a discussion item involving Citizens Field was placed on the agenda by Superintendent Kamela Patton.

Last October, city commissioners offered to sell the stadium to the school board, but nothing has been finalized.
