GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Free dental services are available through Friday as part of ‘Dental Clinic Days’ for children living in Gainesville Housing Authority properties. GHA and the University of Florida’s Saving Smiles initiative partnered to provide the care.

Volunteers from UF’s College of Dentistry will bring portable dental units directly to the community to help residents 18 and under to overcome financial and transportation barriers.

Participating residents will receive preventative services such as cleanings, exams, fluoride treatments, preventative sealants, and one-on-one hygiene education.

Residents can meet with the volunteers at 925 S.E. 43rd St. at Eastwood Meadows in Gainesville. The clinic will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
