Frazer School files for bankruptcy, demands $5 million from former owner

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Leaders with a private school in Gainesville are going through bankruptcy while they try to get the former owner to pay millions of dollars.

The Frazer School filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Friday in the Northern District of Florida.

Earlier this week, the school’s lawyers sent a letter to the former owner, James Schrader, demanding $5 million.

The current owners allege Schrader funneled money raised for the Frazer School into a different venture, Newberry Christian Community School.
