Alachua County School Board to meet to discuss future of Citizens Field

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The future of Citizens Field in Gainesville is coming up for another discussion Tuesday night.
Alachua County School Board members are set to vote on an agreement to transfer the property from the city of Gainesville to the school district. The district uses citizens field for school activities.

The plan would allow the school district to buy the stadium for the initial purchase price of $500,000.
District documents estimate a full demolition and rebuild could cost between $22 million and $25 million.
