PALATKA, Fla. (WCJB) - The St. Johns River Water Management District is not lifting water use restrictions, officials said, despite recent rainfall in some areas of the district.

Officials said it takes time to recover from drought conditions. The district is currently under a Phase Three water shortage declaration.

The declaration limits water use for aesthetic purposes, including landscaping, as well as irrigation and street cleaning.

The district covers parts of Alachua and Marion counties.
