North Central Florida law enforcement participates in 9th Operation Southern Slowdown

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Law enforcement officers across North Central Florida are participating in a multi-state, multi-agency crackdown on speeders.

This is the 9th year for Operation Southern Slowdown. It runs through Saturday.

Last year, officials say nearly 53,000 citations and warnings for speeding were issued across the five participating states.
