DNA testing confirms 13-foot alligator killed Brittany Clark in Seminole County
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officials released the results from a DNA test on an alligator killed in an area where a 31-year-old woman was attacked.
Officials say DNA collected from a 13-foot alligator in the Econlockhatchee River confirms it was the animal responsible for the death of Brittany Clark in Seminole County. The DNA was reportedly tested at a lab in Gainesville.

She was attacked while swimming with her boyfriend and another person in the river. The gator bit her arms.
Her boyfriend reportedly helped pull her from the animal. First responders took her to the hospital, where she died.
After the attack, trappers killed two large gators in the area and sent DNA samples for testing. The medical examiner’s office also confirmed that bite marks on Clark’s body matched one of the animals.
