Poe Springs swimming area closed due to poor water quality

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. — The swimming area at Poe Springs Park has been shut down this week due to poor water quality, according to researchers.

Scientists at the Florida Springs Institute performed tests Thursday and found the water is completely stagnant and experiencing an algae bloom. Researchers said water conditions will not improve unless the area receives significant groundwater to recharge the spring.
