GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Summer camps are in full swing across North Central Florida and one camp starts Monday, July 20 for a special group of kids.
Camp Amigo will host children who’ve suffered burn injuries. It takes place July 20-24 at Camp Anderson in Old Town.
It’s for children as young as 7 who live with the physical and emotional scars of their burns.
Shilah Carroll, the president of Camp Amigo, spoke with TV20’s Robert Bradfield about what the kids can expect, the fun activities planned and how the community can get involved in supporting the camp’s mission.
