Woman arrested for leading Alachua County deputies on vehicle chase on I-75, US 441
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The woman involved in a vehicle chase in Alachua County that resulted in U.S. Highway 441 being temporarily blocked on Monday faces felony charges.
Jennifer Dotzler, 23, was arrested Monday on charges of fleeing and resisting an officer.
According to her arrest report, Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies say they were tipped off that Dotzler was “acting odd” and driving erratically while on U.S. 441 and I-75.
The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office posted a dashcam and body camera video on Tuesday showing the chase.
Deputies caught up with her on the interstate and saw her commit multiple traffic violations. Dotzler kept driving, changing lanes multiple times and cutting off other drivers.
When she turned off the interstate onto Northwest 39th Avenue, deputies ended the chase due to potential danger to the public.
A short time later, deputies saw Doztler again stopped at a red light. They again turned on their lights and sirens to get her to stop, but she sped off.
Finally, they located her on U.S. Highway 441 where she continued to lead deputies on a chase. During the chase, she swerved between lanes, forcing other drivers off the road.
At the intersection of Northwest 188th Street and High Springs, deputies were able to block in her vehicle.
She refused to exit the vehicle and attempted to accelerate out. Deputies approached her vehicle and pepper sprayed her. She was then taken into custody.

The incident resulted in the highway being blocked in both directions Monday afternoon as they worked to bring her into custody.
A witness told deputies Doztler had been using drugs for several days. Deputies say her eyes were bloodshot and her speech was slurred.
Alachua and High Springs Police Department officers also responded to the incident.
