GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Fort White Town Council members may clash again on Monday. The agenda shows claims of malfeasance may be brought against Mayor George Thomas by council member Lonnie Harrell. This spring, Harrell survived a recall effort supported by Thomas.

Marion County commissioners on Tuesday consider raising property taxes, setting a tentative millage rate of 3.49 mills. That would generate $8 million more than this year.

A groundbreaking for the new Gainesville Fire Rescue Station number three is Wednesday. The station is relocating from waldo road to a spot not far away, next to the MLK Center.

On Friday, Anew Florida hosts its survivor benefit dinner at the Blount Center in Gainesville. Anew Florida works to help people impacted by sex trafficking.
