Alachua County elections equipment testing open to public ahead of August primary
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Alachua County Canvassing Board invited the public Wednesday for a logic and accuracy testing session of the county’s election equipment.
During the session, the public had the opportunity to watch officials test the equipment and ballots in person.
What’s next
The canvassing board’s next session is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28. Officials will review the criteria used to accept vote-by-mail ballots for inspection.
Elections Supervisor Kim Barton said voters have options beyond election day.
“You know election day is the last day to vote but it’s not the first you can start voting, voting by mail, early voting,” Barton said.
The Alachua County primary is Aug. 18. A full list of events hosted by the canvassing board is available at alachua.gov.
