Get prepared for hurricane season with the National Weather Service

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - With hurricane season in full swing, officials say preparation begins long before a storm forms. This week, the National Weather Service is offering virtual training sessions on hurricane readiness.

Sessions will explain how to understand a forecast, emergency planning and post-storm safety.

The goal of the sessions is to better prepare residents when severe weather is on the way, organizers say. Registration for the sessions can be found on the National Weather Service’s website.
