Dashcam video shows Amber Alert kidnapping suspect point gun at Marion County deputies
OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - Newly obtained video from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office shows the moments before a deadly deputy-involved shooting during an Amber Alert investigation.
Dash camera video provided by the sheriff’s office shows patrol vehicles conducting a PIT maneuver on Jason Castillo’s vehicle, forcing it off U.S. Highway 441 in Belleview.
In the video, Castillo appears to pull out a handgun and point it in the direction of the patrol vehicles.
Deputies say they fired into the vehicle, striking Castillo. He died at the hospital.

The 13-year-old girl that Castillo was accused of abducting from her home in the Shady Road Villas community on Monday was recovered safe.
Authorities found Castillo’s vehicle a short time after a Florida Amber Alert through the use of a FLOCK license plate reader and a witness.
“This little girl is home tonight because my deputies did their job, our License Plate Reader cameras did exactly what they’re designed to do, and one citizen took the time to make a phone call. It took all three working together to bring this little girl home. That’s the outcome we were fighting for, and I’m grateful to everyone who played a part in making it happen,” Sheriff Billy Woods stated.
