Alachua County man charged with 12 counts of child sexual battery, according to ACSO

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - On Tuesday, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office officials arrested a man due to multiple sexual battery charges involving children.

Officials say Perryman was in close proximity to the children and had provided care for them. Earlier on Tuesday, the two children told a relative that Perryman had sexually abused them multiple times.

The relative immediately contacted law enforcement, and the children were scheduled for both forensic and medical interviews.

As the investigation went on, officials uncovered Perryman had sexually and physically abused both of the victims for many years.

Perryman was taken into custody Tuesday at the Alachua County Jail. He was charged with 12 counts of sexual battery.
