UF Health hospitals rank among nation’s best

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Out of 321 hospitals in Florida, two UF Health hospitals fall in the top 20.

UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville is ranked No. 3 and UF Health Jacksonville is at No. 18, according to the rankings from U.S. News.

UF Health Shands is ranked nationally in five different specialties. Cancer falls at No. 35, geriatrics at No. 44, OB-GYN at No. 16, neurology and neurosurgery ranks at No. 32 and pulmonary and lung surgery is at No. 39.

The recognition highlights UF Health’s ability to deliver care to complex conditions, officials say. The facilities are devoted to integrating patient care, research and education to improve patients’ livelihoods and pave the way to new discoveries.
