Local conservation group wins Charity of the Month  

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Our Santa Fe River received $1,000 from Radiant Credit Union and earned their Charity of the Month title.

The group coordinates conservation efforts, like removing invasive plants from local ecosystems.

The organization said winning the contest makes them excited to continue working to address current losses in nature.

Executive Director Judi Boas said, “This definitely is a morale boost for our organization. As the water continues to be depleted, there’s a lot of losses so this is a great win for Our Santa Fe River.”

Boas said they’ll use the money for their environmental initiatives.
