GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - An alligator found itself near Archer Road before Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies safely caught and relocated the reptile.
Shortly after 10a.m. on Monday, deputies responded to calls of a 2 to 3 foot long gator in the area snapping at people’s pets. Deputies went to the 4400 block of SW Archer Road before wrapping it in a towel and tape.
Deputies originally intended to release the alligator to Payne’s Prairie, but after seeing much larger gators in the area, decided to release it in a lake along SW 13th Street.
