Violent carjacking suspect arrested by Alachua deputies

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A man was arrested following a carjacking and battery investigation on Tuesday.

Carlo Williams, 25, entered his victim’s car while they were in a Jonesville grocery store and concealed himself. As the victim drove away, Williams emerged from his hiding spot. He physically prevented the victim from driving safely and wouldn’t let them use their phone, investigators say.

Investigators determined Williams and the victim know each other. Williams was arrested around 3p.m. after law enforcement initiated a traffic stop.
