GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies say a man with dementia who went missing for days was found alive thanks to help from a neighbor.

On Friday morning, sheriff’s deputies announced William Hall, 63, had been found and was being evaluated by EMS. They credited a neighbor with assisting in the search.

“Sheriff Scott and all of our incredible Deputies want to truly thank each and every one of you that shared Mr. Hall’s photograph or came out to help us search,” the sheriff’s office posted.

Deputies say Hall left his home on Southeast 13th Terrace around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. He has late-stage dementia and had recently moved into his home.

ASO officials say they used a K-9 unit, drone team, and many residents to search for Hall.
