GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - An Air Force airplane donning the “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” descended into Gainesville Regional Airport Saturday afternoon.

Airport officials said they could not comment, but flight trackers and viewers said the Boeing C-32 aircraft arrived in North Central Florida around 2 p.m.

The plane came from an airport in New York, according to the website ADS-B Exchange. Before that, the plane was in Washington, D.C.

It is not currently known where the airplane headed after Gainesville, or who was on board.

Air Force One is only used to describe an Air Force plane carrying the president of the United States.
