HAMPTON, Fla. — The felony case against a Hampton city councilman who was arrested in June has been dropped.
Court records show state prosecutors filed a “no information” action against Douglas Williamson, and the judge closed the case on August 13.
Williamson was arrested after a man reported being threatened by Williamson with a gun.
Williamson told TV20 he believed he was acting out of concern over recent thefts in the area and thought he was protecting his property.
