Petition to rename Nashville airport after Dolly Parton surges following country music legend’s death
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) - A petition calling for Nashville’s airport to be renamed in honor of Dolly Parton has seen a surge of support following the country music legend’s death.
The petition on Change.org seeks to rename Nashville International Airport to the Dolly Parton International Airport.

The change request has more than 80,000 signatures, including about 35,000 added just since the Tennessee native’s death on Tuesday.
Nashville International announced it will be honoring Parton by lighting its parking garages pink from Tuesday night through the weekend.
“Dolly Parton was not only a singer and songwriter but also a philanthropist and entrepreneur,” an airport spokesperson shared. “Above all, she was a Tennessee legend.”
Parton died after a reported brief battle with cancer at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville.
