Belleview man faces charges after being accused of stealing $85,000 worth of jewelry

BELLEVIEW, Fla. (WCJB) - A man from Belleview faces charges after Marion County sheriff’s deputies say he stole $85,000 worth of jewelry from a woman and tried to pawn it off slowly.

Deputies say Keith Verner, 54, pawned off the jewelry over the course of several months, selling pieces at stores beginning in August.

He had access to the residence to care for pets while the woman was gone.

Verner is due back in court Nov. 24 following his arrest last week.
