Brianda Villegas is a Weekend Anchor and Reporter for WCJB-TV20 in Gainesville, FL. She joined the news team in June 2017. She was born and raised in the small town of Arcadia, FL.
Brianda graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Telecommunications News. During her time at the university, she performed in a collegiate a cappella group and several talent shows representing her sorority chapter Alpha Omicron Pi.
A big lover of the Gator Nation and a former UF mascot, Brianda is thrilled to be doing what she loves at the place she now calls home. A big goal of hers is to help stop the stigma of mental illness. As an advocate for suicide prevention, she wants to open the dialogue with others and let them know they are not alone.
Brianda is bilingual in English and Spanish and is of proud Mexican descent. She fell in love with local news after realizing the potential the platform can give others, regardless of what language they may speak.
When she isn't reporting, you can find Brianda jamming out to country music, crafting, looking up cute puppy videos, or chomping at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium during a home game.
