Dylan Lyons joined the TV20 News Team in July of 2019 as the morning reporter/ fill-in anchor. He moved from Orlando to start to his professional journalism career.
Dylan graduated from The University of Central Florida with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science. During his time at UCF, he served as President for the school’s Radio Television Digital News Association Chapter. Serving as an anchor and reporter for “UCF Knightly News” Dylan covered many noteworthy events including the UCF Knight’s historic 13-0 football season which was capped off with a National Championship.
As an intern at 3 news stations in Orlando, Dylan had great exposure to a variety of different stories. Working at the NPR affiliate 90.7 WMFE, he had the opportunity to cover the federal trial of Noor Salman, the widow of the Pulse Nightclub gunman. The President’s arrival at Orlando International Airport and high school football coverage were highlights of his internship at Channel 9 WFTV. During his final semester, while working at News 6 WKMG, Dylan had the opportunity to hone his skills as a reporter during coverage of the I-4 Ultimate Project.
Dylan was originally born in Philadelphia, PA. He is a devoted fan to all Philadelphia sports teams but is especially passionate about his UCF Knights. When he is not working, he loves spending time with his family, reading, playing sports, and finding different vegan options.
