Nicolette has been interested in meteorology since she could talk. Her Italian-immigrant grandfather, a distinguished pilot, showed her several books on storms, cloud types, and other weather phenomena. From then on, she was hooked and constantly watched the local news specifically for weather forecasts.
Living in the northern suburbs of Chicago wasn’t fulfilling her weather aspirations, so she moved across the country to Gainesville, Florida. She studied telecommunications at the University of Florida for a few years but now plans on finishing a meteorology degree instead at Mississippi State in the coming years.
During her time at UF, she dedicated her time to Florida Storms & WUFT-TV/WRUF-FM. She covered several hurricanes for the entire state of Florida, starting with Hurricane Irma on her very first week on the job. Since then, Nicolette started at WCJB TV20 as the Weekend Weather Forecaster in March of 2021.
Nicolette’s passion for weather extends far beyond the state of Florida and tropical weather, but she looks forward to providing full weather coverage to North Central Florida for years to come. The only thing she loves more than the weather is her rescue pup Kane and Chicago-Style hotdogs.
