Sydney Witte is a weekday morning reporter at WSMV4, she joined the team in July 2026.

Before moving to Nashville, the Phoenix native was a morning anchor and executive producer at KBJR in Duluth, Minnesota. That's where she went live in blizzards on Lake Superior, and covered Olympians Korey Dropkin and Cory Thiesse before and after their Silver Medal win at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Games. One of her favorite stories during her tenure was on Interstate Island, spotlighting a unique habitat for an endangered waterbird, the common tern. Throughout her career in Duluth, she launched streaming newscasts and helped grow digital monetization on socials.

Sydney is no stranger to the Gray Media family, as she interned at Hawaii News Now and Arizona's Family while in college, covering stories like Hurricane Calvin, the Maui wildfires, and Super Bowl LVII.

Sydney graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University with a Master of Arts in Mass Communications in May 2024, after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a minor in Communication in May 2023. While at ASU, Sydney reported, anchored, and produced Cronkite News on Arizona PBS, earning a Rocky Mountain Emmy Award nomination in 2023. Sydney has over eight years of experience in broadcasting, writing, and editing — a passion she first discovered through local news and a career and technical education program focused on television and film in high school.

When she's not reporting, Sydney is likely exploring Tennessee and blogging about food and travel on her social media accounts, as her phone always eats first! She is continuously taking recommendations for the latest hotspot or hole-in-the-wall restaurant and adding it to her list. and what better place to do that than Music City!

She loves to hear from viewers! If you have any story ideas to share, food recommendations, or just want to say hello, you can email her at: sydney.witte@wsmv.com
