David started as an intern at TV20 in January of 2017. As a reporter, David thrives on fast-paced delivery and enterprise storytelling.
A Florida native, David was born in Pembroke Pines but spent most of his childhood in Lady Lake, just south of Ocala. David knew he wanted to tell stories in Gainesville from the moment he set foot on the University of Florida campus in the fall of 2016. Starting as an intern, David was hired on TV20 in April 2017, working as an Associate Producer, Assignment/Web Editor and Photographer before starting as a reporter in August 2018.
Outside of TV20, David has interned at WJXT in Jacksonville and CBS News in New York City. As a student at UF, David reported, anchored and produced for television and radio at WUFT News. Throughout his career, David has covered stories ranging from Hurricane Irma’s impact on North Central Florida to Richard Spencer’s speech at UF.
When he’s not at work, David enjoys traveling across the Sunshine State and enjoying its natural wonders. David’s passion for Florida’s beauty and natural environment is incorporated in his storytelling, with his background including a variety of stories on flooding and its human impacts.
