100-year-old house in High Springs damaged in major blaze

Firefighters from multiple agencies worked to battle a house fire in High Springs Wednesday night.
The fire started just before 8 p.m. when Alachua County and Newberry Fire Rescue crews assisted the High Springs Fire department.
Video captured by a neighbor shows heavy smoke and a column of flames going through the roof. No one was inside the home at the time.
The blaze caused significant damage to the 100-year-old home.
According to Alachua County Fire Rescue, the damage is a hit for the High Springs' cultural heritage.
Members of the community have posted
to help the owner of the house.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the fire.
