Two former Florida prison employees, who were also Ku Klux Klan (KKK) members, have been sentenced in a plot to kill a black inmate.

According to a statement from the Attorney General's Office, 49 year old David Moran and 45 year old Charles Newcomb, will both serve 12 years in prison.

A third employee, 27 year old Thomas Driver, was bitten by the inmate, who they suspected of having HIV and Hepatitis.

An FBI investigation revealed the men enlisted an FBI informant to kill the inmate.

Moran and Driver were correctional officers at the time of the plot, while Newcomb was a former correctional officer.

Driver was only sentenced to four years in prison.
