Some of the horse industry's top performers were recognized in Ocala at the 2019 Thoroughbred Breeders' and Owners' Association Horse of the Year Gala.
They're used to bringing their A-game on the track but in Ocala, many of the horse industry's top breeders and owners are being recognized for all of their hard work.
The gala isn't just about giving out awards, it's about giving back to the community as well.
"We have the Florida Thoroughbred charities, we do two things, we raise money for scholarships, but we also have a wonderful program with our women's prison in town, we partner retired thoroughbreds with the only women prison in the state that works with horses for rehabilitation," said Tammy Gant, the Associate Vice President of the FTBOA.
Imperial Hint is the 2019 Horse of the year.
The fundraiser comes on the eve of the two-day Ocala breeder sale of 2-year-olds.
