Wisconsin fugitive on the run for over a year arrested in Williston

WILLISTON, Fla. (WCJB)- A wanted sex-crime offender on the run was arrested in Levy County last night.

29-year-old Lorenzo Bernabe-Lucas of Racine County, Wisconsin has been a wanted fugitive and on the run for over a year.

A warrant for his arrest was issued for 1st-degree child sexual assault in April of 2018.

According to a press release from Levy County Sheriff's Office, Bernabe-Lucas was located in Williston after leads communicated between U.S. Marshal’s Service task forces in the Great Lakes and Florida regions.

He had been working and living locally in Levy County.

Bernabe-Lucas was taken to Levy County Detention Bureau, where he will be held on a $75,000 bond until he can be transferred to authorities in Wisconsin.
