5th Annual Festival of the Trees benefits Children's Miracle Network

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla., (WCJB) -- Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Tioga as the 5th annual Festival of the Trees wrapped up this weekend.

The event, which featured a silent auction of decorated trees, wreaths, and other holiday-themed items, was hosted by UF Health Shands Children Hospital at the Tioga Town Center.

Event organizers say that the trees are only 'one' reason people came out.

"It is not just trees." said event manager and Senior Development Associate for the Children's Miracle Network at UF Health Shands, Lindsay Ritenbaugh.

"Its and just so much more. We have a tree that has 4 tickets to "Hamilton" in Tampa in February. (There are) lots of trees with gift cards and local hotel stays and things like that, like the Garth Brooks concert that's coming up on April 28th, so there's just really a lot of great things that come with the trees."

All of the proceeds from the event benefitted the Children Miracle Network's hospitals at the Children's Hospital
