STARKE, Fla. (WCJB) – A North Central Florida mining facility is shutting down.

The Twin Pines Minerals Sands processing facility just east of Starke will close by the end of June. Forty workers expected to lose their jobs as the operation is phased out. The closure comes from a WARN filing with the state's Economic Department of Development.

A notice was sent out to workers saying they will be offered other positions at other locations in the company.
